Le nouvel album de DEREK SHERINIAN (ex Dream Theater) intitulé "Blood Of The Snake" sortira chez Inside Out le 28 juillet prochain en Europe, le 1er août aux USA et le 23 août au Japon. Comme toujours, le claviériste s'est entouré d'une ribambelle de musiciens aguerris comme John Petrucci (Dream Theater), Slash (Guns'n'Roses), Billy Idol, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Simon Phillips, Tony Franklin et Brian Tichy. Le premier single de "Blood of the Snake" sera une reprise de Mungo Jerry : "In the Summertime" avec Billy Idol au chant et Slash à la guitare. "In The Summertime was my favorite song when I was 3," begins Sherinian. "Billy started singing it one day at soundcheck, and we started jamming on it. We agreed it would be a great song to cover one day. Slash was the perfect guitarist for this track." Wylde also gives his vocal talents a go, appearing on the brooding Man With No Name, which resembles classic-era Ozzy Osbourne. "Zakk sounds like vintage Ozzy on this track," acknowledges Sherinian. "He sings and plays great on this song."
