Août 1971 : la composition du sémillant “Nine Feet Underground” sur le monumental In The Land Of Grey And Pink (1971) avait poussé David Sinclair à s’évader de la célèbre caravane du Canterbury – direction Robert Wyatt et son Matching Mole fraîchement sortis de terre. Trop avant-gardiste à son goût, la taupe jazzy occupera le claviériste le temps dÂ’un court album (Matching Mole , 1972). De son côté, Caravan ponctuait ses ambitions jazz-rock sur le très anonyme Waterloo Lily (1972). Si lÂ’on ajoute à lÂ’affaire les départs amorcés de Steve Miller et de Richard Sinclair, il en fallu peu pour convaincre notre homme (David Sinclair, suivez bien) dÂ’accepter la proposition tout à fait décente de Ric ...
