Big Big Train vient de recruter Rikard Sjoblom (Beardfish) pour les concerts prévus en 2014. Le groupe répètera dans les studios Real World de Peter Gabriel et un DVD live devrait également être enregistré. Parallèlement, le groupe continue de travailler sur le successeur du dyptique "English Electric" intitulé "Station Masters" qui consite en des reprises de titres très anciens avec le line up actuel. Greg Spawton : “Live activity is a major undertaking for us as we haven’t played any gigs since earlier incarnations of the band. When the current lineup started working together in 2009, we didn’t expect to be in a position to be playing live again. The songs on our albums became multi-layered recordings, which are not easy to perform live. “We’ve decided that we’ll be aiming for performances with brass and strings, and we’ve been preparing a number of songs to test in our August rehearsals at Real World. “We’ve identified a need for a strong additional keyboard player, guitarist and vocalist. I am very pleased to announce that we will be joined at Real World and for our live shows by the wonderful Rikard Sjöblom from one of our favourite bands, Beardfish. “Rikard is a fine keyboard player, guitarist and singer and so he’s able to fill all of our requirements in one person. He’s also a top chap which is very important to us.” “well into recording a new studio album. Work continues on Station Masters, where we’re revisiting some of our earlier songs with the new lineup.”
